Review: Winter’s Hear, Robert Jordan

Rating: 4 out 5

It’s occasionally difficult to see where this series is going: there are so many different themes that all need to be sorted, that there’s barely room in a fairly lengthy book like this one to move slightly forward with one (two?) of these. Was it good? Sure, the story is enjoyable, but the complexity also makes it clear that some of these storylines will not progress at all – perhaps for several books.

I didn’t really have grand impressions from this one because of this. There was some action, a tiny bit of movement, but even the new problems that arose at the start of the book did not seem anywhere closer to a solution by the end. This made the battle towards the end target anticlimactic, one of many – dozens)– that need to be won to get to the end of this cycle.
