Mr Mulliner’s stories are an excellent pastime just like any other Wodehouse. I think the strength of these stories lies in the opposite of the Jeeves and Wooster compendiums: Mr Mulliner is talking about what other folk in his family, generally relations of some kind, did here or there. This allows the stories to be perhaps a touch more ludicrous than the presence of Jeeves would allow.
My particular favourites in this related to the “Buck-U-Uppo”, which formed a good subset of stories within this collection.
