Review: Tai-Pan, James Clavell

Rating: 5 out of 5

“I dinna ken who you are, but thanks for giving me back my face.”

Mr Clavell is one of my standard fiction recommendations, and ‘Tai-Pan’ in my mind is one of his better books so it was with great expectations I took it up again. It is with a far better recollection that I put it down, with the dialogue and story itself times better than what I recalled.

The one phrase that is likely to stay with me, however, is the same — everyone needs to meet their own Aristotle Quance at some point.
